Dark Blue Baby Bird

It was tough to get a good shot of this guy. He is sitting at an angle. Waiting for mom to come back with some food! I use handmade clay and paint each little bird. All my little birds are hand sculpted and one of a kind..

This bird is approx 3 x 1.75 x 2 inches – I am totally guessing though, forgot to measure before I drove to McDonalds to post him!

Galah is also known as the Rose-breasted Cockatoo, Galah Cockatoo, Roseate Cockatoo or Pink and Grey, is one of the most common and widespread cockatoos, and it can be found in open country in almost all parts of mainland Australia.

They nest in cavities in a tree or rock crevice, sometimes forming small colonies. They migrate in flocks to Central and northern South America. These birds often forage in flocks, usually flying relatively high but sometimes flying low over water. They eat insects including mosquitos, butterflies, mayflies and moths.

Ravens on a Wire

Raven on a Wire Sculpture
14 x 6 x 6.5 inches

Well, it’s kind of a TV antenna, the ones that go on the top of buildings around here. I’d take a photo for you but I dropped my camera and broke the focus – as you can probably tell by my picture quality. Took me three hours of shots just to get these two! I hope you can tell it’s an antenna ;)

Fat Speckled Bird

Not sure what this one is – we’ll just call her the fat speckled bird :)

5 x 3 x 2 inches

Update 2/7: OK, got the new photo up. She does remind me a little of the Tasmanian Devil in the Bugs Bunny cartoons! Body shape maybe? I think I’ll name her the Tasmanian Mockingbird. New species – she lives in Tasmanian and eats juniper berries ;)

Purple Sunbird

Miniature Bird Sculpture – Purple Sunbird

Got the 360 view going on this one! Not sure why these birds are named purple sunbirds, they all look blue to me – so I made him blue ;0)

“Like other sunbirds they feed mainly on nectar, although they will also take insects, especially when feeding young. They have a fast and direct flight and can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird but often perch at the base of flowers.”
