I lied

I am not going to stop posting about the eagle! I even gave him his own category. I admit it, I’m obsessed.

I was totally ready for him this morning but he was way high in the sky flying circles down the path of the river. This is the best shot I got out of 414 rapid fire shots.

Six hours later, I see him flying 20 feet off the ground with a wriggling brown trout in his claws and a crow in hot pursuit. He was about 60 feet away from me. I did not have my camera. I did have a witness, which is why I know the distance. \:|

Bald Eagle Flying

OK, this is one of the eagle flying – you can see his little white head right? Of course I was inside and the zoom wasn’t on but I think you can tell it’s the eagle. Last crappy photo I am posting though – the next time I post him it will be a good shot, do not hold your breath :) it might take a while!

Baby Eagle Came Back

Last night around 7 Boo Boo started screaming her head off and I look out the window and the baby eagle has landed in a tree right by the house!! I dumped my purse out on the bed scrounging for the camera and ran outside, he sat there for a few minutes and let me take photos – what a sweetie! The one above is the best out of 212 (rapid fire camera setting)… LOL Then off he went… bye baby eagle :)

I got him!!!! Eagle 8 Photographer 1

OK, so I’m not expecting a call from National Geographic. I know it’s a terrible photo and you can’t tell it’s an eagle, but it is, I swear! By the time I got the camera turned on he was half way down the river. He was carrying something too – lunch? And I think he has a friend, a bird was with him on his last run through and again this time – paid no attention to the other bird, only noticed that it was a little over half of the size of the eagle.

So there is a fabulous bald eagle that flies by my window in the mornings. Determined to get a shot, I checked the time yesterday when I saw him – 10:38. So this morning I was set up and ready, had the camera on the right setting and I was at the window ready to go! It was raining but I thought I might get lucky. I waited from 9:30 until 10:45 – no eagle. I figured it was too rainy and he was hunkered down in a tree somewhere – well as soon as I starting taking photos of sculptures, the little bugger showed up! By this time the camera was on the wrong setting and the above shot is all I got. He is in there somewhere but I’ll be darned if I can tell where! He had showed up at 10:59 LOL This bird photography thing is harder than I thought…
